20h40 – FLATDOG BLUES BAND
Flatdog Blues Band is a new project fronted by Antonio and Joanne Ravell on guitar and vocals respectively, with Gwynn Williams on keyboard. The engine room of the band is made up of Ronnie McNamara on bass and Andrew Shuttleworth on drums – this rhythm section did a stint together with Durban legendary blues band Bobby and the Dynamites led by the late, great Will Wallace. The project allows for the band to rope in guests and play authentic blues from the heart while supporting the Flatdog Music platform in Durban that has been creating opportunities for bands to play at selected venues around town. Catch Flatdog Blues Band at MiTH on 17 June 2026.
19h40 – GLASS HEARTS
Glass Hearts are an alt-rock band from the Midlands KZN, focusing on mostly 2000s-like numbers. Debuting at Splashy Fen in 2025, Glass Hearts was a 3-piece band staring Daniel Morkel on vocals and acoustic guitar, James Isaac on electric guitar and Skippy Khubeka on drums. Since then, Glass Hearts has expanded to a quartet with Skippy moving to bass guitar, and Hayden Eilers taking over the drum throne. They have also played their second Splashy Fen, performing hits like Yellow by Coldplay, a rock cover of End of Beginning by Djo, and even an original, Colour of My Life.
19h00 – CRAIG MARTENS
Craig Martens is a Bishopstowe-based singer/guitarist who is no stranger to the MiTH stage. Born in Pietermaritzburg and growing up in KZN with a singing history from 1969 and playing guitar since 1972 Craig’s influences were John Denver, Simon and Garfunkel, Albert Hammond, John Prine, Townes Van Zandt, Don Williams, Glen Campbell, Flatts and Scruggs, Doc Watson and Jim Croce. Craig is a founder member of The Bandits and The Mottled Crew bluegrass and country bands. Solo performances are eclectic mixes with originals and covers by the above-mentioned artists, Van Morrison and Sam Cooke. Craig has performed on big stages including 7 Splashy Fen appearances, international polocrosse gala events, weddings, barn dances, and family and corporate events, both solo and with the bands. He has also done shows with Charles Webster, The Hairy Legged Lentil Eaters and has had resident slots at venues in the Midlands including Il Postino and Hebron Haven. Michael Webster will be accompanying Craig on cajon.
