The Black Velvet Band is an exciting new four-piece Celtic folk ensemble, featuring Rhiannon Reid (vocals and guitar), Phillipa Kerr (violin and vocals), Vince Reid (piano and whistle) and Michael Webster (percussion). Through their music, they weave together history, heart and culture in a rich celebration of traditional Irish song, bringing timeless melodies vividly to life. From beloved classics such as Danny Boy to spirited favourites like Rocky Road to Dublin, The Black Velvet Band delivers a gorgeous Celtic experience filled with warmth.

Grace Botha & Tanya Nicolson are no strangers to the MiTH stage individually. But together they’ve performed on and off for 8 years, delivering a refined lounge experience, blending jazz-inflected interpretations of contemporary classics, soulful ballads and timeless numbers. Featuring two talented vocalists and expressive piano, their sound is warm, emotive and effortlessly intimate. Their shared background in jazz, theatre and contemporary music allows them to reinterpret well-loved songs with emotional depth. Their harmonies combined with gentle piano make for a special evening of sitting back and feeling all the feels. With decades of combined industry experience, as well as a deep friendship, Grace & Tanya bring professionalism, musical sensitivity and an intuitive understanding of audience dynamics.

Thobeka Mthethwa is a Pietermaritzburg-based singer-songwriter whose sound blends R&B, pop, and country influences. Performing with acoustic guitar and vocals, she delivers both original music and carefully selected covers with a warm, soulful touch. Inspired by Megan Moroney, Yebba, and Amanda Black, Thobeka brings emotional depth and authenticity to every performance. Despite having played for just over a year, she has already performed at events and venues including Splashy Fen Festival, Redlands Hotel, and Mavuso Shisa Lounge. With a growing presence in the local music scene, she continues to connect with audiences through heartfelt storytelling and an intimate, engaging stage presence.
