Tres is a three-piece acoustic group from Richards Bay that is highly rated in Northern Natal. They consist of Doc Eugene Viljoen (previously of Zwarte Piet, and Zeeroover) on guitar, Ben Visser on keyboards, and Pedro de Mello Machado on vocals. They are all multi-instrumentalists, which gives them a unique sound.

The trio started when Covid stopped public music performances three years ago, so they shifted to provide a more personal music experience for band and listeners. Their material consists of iconic covers and original tunes.

7:45pm: Leigh & Roly

Leigh Goddard takes us on a journey through her memoirs of her song-writing.

Some songs stick around, some fall by the wayside, some are incomplete, and some were written last week.

Leigh is a songwriter across multiple genres of music; from cinematic and folk, to hip hop and grunge. After spending years working behind the scenes on events and as an agent for bands nationally, she picked up the guitar for herself at 25 years old and began her writing journey. She has played at festivals across the country to audiences that appreciate original music.

Roly Struckmeyer, accompanying Leigh on bass, needs very little introduction as he is a regular on the MiTH stage.

7pm: Chris & Kaylee

Christopher and Kaylee Bester are a husband and wife team who have come together to play music. Their chosen genres are country and bluegrass. Christopher has been in many bands over the years and plays a variety of instruments. Kaylee has a more classical background and has taught music in schools.

KNOW BEFORE YOU GO: MiTH takes place every second Wednesday at The Knoll Historic Guest Farm, Knoll Drive, Hilton. Doors open at 6pm and the music will kick off at 7pm. Entrance is R50 at the door. Bring your own booze. Food and soft drinks are available for sale.

DIRECTIONS TO MiTH: Take the N3 to Hilton, take the Hilton turnoff and go South into the Village (away from Hilton College). Travel 5,2km along Hilton Avenue (past two sets of traffic lights and Crossways Pub) and keep going straight as Hilton Avenue turns into Dennis Shepstone Drive. At the 5,2km mark, Knoll Drive will be on your right – the entrance to MiTH is the *second* entrance on your left into The Knoll Historic Guest Farm.
