MUSIC IN THE HILLS THIS WEEK 09/08/2017 – Open Mic, Mikyle Naidoo, Michaela-Skye Callop & Cravan

7pm – OPEN MIC
7.30pm – 8.00pm – MIKYLE NAIDOO
Mikyle Naidoo is a self-taught musician who started playing during high school at Maritzburg College. Mikyle plays the guitar and is a solo artist. He feels that there is a more intimate connection with the audience when performing solo. He plays folky music with splashes of pop and blues here and there. His favourite musicians are John Mayer, Ed Sheeran and Jack Johnson.
8.00pm – 9.00pm – MICHAELA-SKYE CALLOP
Michaela-Skye Callop is a 16-year-old musician who performs regularly at St. Ives and Bishopstowe. She is a student of Hector Houston and her repertoire includes Nora Jones, Etta James, Rihanna, Justin Bieber, Amy Winehouse.
9.00pm – 10.00pm – CRAVAN
Cravan is a newly formed duo of two vibrant youngsters who sing original songs as well as cover a few not so well known songs (That you will fall in love with). Frequenting open mic nights in PMB and Durban, these two ninjas hope to make a significant dent in the live music scene in South Africa.
ABOUT MiTH: MiTH is a semi-open mic music club. An opportunity for musicians to share the joy of their music with a friendly audience which includes fellow musicians – who have all “been there” too. (Non-musicians welcome too!) Whether you’re a newbie looking for your first opportunity to perform publicly, or a more experienced / mature musician simply looking for people who are as passionate about music as you are – come along and join us!

DIRECTIONS TO MiTH: Take the N3 to Hilton, take the Hilton turnoff and go South into the Village (away from Hilton College). Travel 5,2km along Hilton Avenue (past two sets of traffic lights and Old Main Brewery) and keep going straight as Hilton Avenue turns into Dennis Shepstone Drive. At the 5,2km mark, Knoll Drive will be on your right – the entrance to MiTH is the *second* entrance on your left into The Knoll Historic Guest Farm.
