MiTH 19th October 2022
INFO: 082 331 7271
ENTRANCE: R50.00 – Cash or Zapper at the Door
VENUE: The Knoll Historic Guest Farm
9pm: James Edward
James Edward has been in the music industry for the greater part of 20 years now, this being his first solo project. “Eyes of Sunglasses,” the first single off his debut EP, recently hit number 1 on the SA Top 40 on MixFM and is playlisted on our own East Coast Radio. He has written and performed as James Robertson as a member of Spoonfeedas, a multi-charting SA group achieving a number 1 on 5fm, as well as other charting singles in the Top 10 and Top 20. He then went on to form Cubic Inch and again enjoyed radio popularity, opening for Bryan Adams on his tour to SA. He then formed Serrotone with Peter Guthrie and Billy Kruger, and they have performed alongside Freshly Ground, Prime Circle, and Wonderboom, to name a few.
James will be joined at MiTH by Billy Kruger, arguably Durban’s finest drummer. With a wealth of experience both locally and internationally, one of the highlights of Billy’s career was sharing the stage with Delirious in Holland.
Jared Turnham, a multi-instrumentalist, will be joining them on stage on bass guitar.
8pm: Kevin Gurney
Kevin Gurney is a guitarist and singer from Eston who has been playing for several years. He plays a range of acoustic folk, and blues songs including some originals. His influences include legends such as Eric Clapton, Creedence Clearwater Revival, Bob Marley, and Bob Dylan, as well as current artists like Benjamin Tod, Tyler Childers, The Hill Country Devil, and Mumford and Sons.
7pm: Cherry Pickers
Andrew and Arum have been friends for years, and have been hoping to play together at MiTH for a good many of those.
Andrew is a musician, songwriter, and guitar teacher. He has released some of his music, selling albums online.
Arum is an actress, dancer, comedienne, theatre practitioner, teacher, mother, and friend. If the night goes well, she will be a singer too.
They say they love to play indie folk music, but are completely eclectic, cherry-picking songs from many genres.
