MiTH 26 June 2024
INFO: 082 331 7271
ENTRANCE: R50.00 – Cash or Zapper at the Door
VENUE: The Knoll Historic Guest Farm
8:50 pm: Evo
Hailing from KZN, Evo is an energetic, vibrant duo, influenced by various bands from CCR, Mumford and Sons, and Depeche Mode to Jeremy Loops. Evo plays original songs, and covers a few well-known and not-so-well-known tunes from the acoustic, indie, and rock genres. With Evan Oosthuizen on guitar, vocals and drums, and Lynton Richards on bass, the music is sure to get the feet tapping.
Through the brand EVOMUSIC, Evan runs events at various venues in and around Pietermaritzburg, supporting local music. In addition to his solo career, he is a member of two bands and collaborates with various artists on the stage, which sees him performing at multiple venues in and around KZN on the weekends.
7:40 pm: Acoustic Jukebox
Acoustic Jukebox is a duo of Midlands locals Mark White on keys and vocals, and Maryke Jonsson on vocals. They perform covers of songs from various genres, including R&B, folk, pop, and rock. Maryke and Mark share a passion for music and each have their own extensive list of stage performances.
Their collective style could be described as eclectic, due to the varied genres they cover, hence the reference to ‘Jukebox’. This will be their debut performance as a duo and they will cover artists like Ray Charles, Bette Midler, Brandi Carlisle, Shakira, Bon Jovi, Sting, Five for Fighting, Bonnie Tyler, Radiohead, and Sara Bareilles.
7pm: Martin & Charles
Martin and Charles need little introduction. They are an integral part of the MiTH Crew and have both been playing music in and around the Midlands for many years.
Charles Webster is a vocalist with a smooth baritone and a distinctive folk-rock fingerstyle/rhythm guitar and has become a fixture of the local music scene. He has recently branched out into performing niche intimate stage shows, such as Simon & Garfunkel, and Boy Van Die Suburbs with various local musicians.
Martin “Gee” Godfrey is rock vocalist, emcee, and former radio presenter. He has been singing (and drumming occasionally) with various local bands and most of PMB’s best musicians since the age of 17 and is probably best known as the front man for arguably Pietermaritzburg’s best-ever classic rock band, The Splayed Ferrets.
Together, Martin and Charles bring a synergy of smooth vocals and crafted harmonies to a range of everyone’s favourite songs.
