MUSIC IN THE HILLS THIS WEEK 21/06/2017 – Open Mic, Ed Pepperell, Bowstring & T Christian.
Time: 7pm, entry R25, bring your own booze. Food and soft drinks are available for sale.
7pm – OPEN MIC – JAMES SHEAD
7.30pm – ED PEPPERELL
Ed Pepperell is a Midlands musician who focuses on electric guitar, and voice. Along with classic rock influences, he is inspired by progressive and experimental styles and aspires to push boundaries and bring interesting unique sounds to musical performance. While almost exclusively performing original music, occasional covers are always performed with a twist.
8.00pm – BOWSTRING
This father-daughter duo (Rebecca and Charles Webster) will be celebrating the father’s birthday (we won’t give his age away) at MiTH by bringing you the vocal harmonies and a funky rhythm they have become known for – with a mix of original and cover material, there is much emotion and much musicality in this team. Son/brother Michael will join in the fun on the MiTH drumkit, too! Don’t miss out.
9.00pm – TCHRISTIAN
Inspired by beautiful music, especially Mali Zulu’s music, as well as Robert Glasper, Snacky Puppy, Lira, Afro Traction and others. T Christian has played for Nosihe Zulu, Malibongwe Zulu, Soulfullsound and several more. He started singing when he was 11 and just fell in love with the way it made him feel. He is a song writter and has performed at the Maritzburg Jazz festival, Sprytz, weddings, business functions, hotels and parties. This is his second time performing at MiTH.
ABOUT MiTH:
MiTH is a semi-open mic music club. An opportunity for musicians to share the joy of their music with a friendly audience which includes fellow musicians – who have all “been there” too. (Non-musicians welcome too!) Whether you’re a newbie looking for your first opportunity to perform publicly, or a more experienced / mature musician simply looking for people who are as passionate about music as you are – come along and join us!
Musicians who want to play at MiTH, please contact mithbookings@gmail.com, Doug Borain cell 072 340 7034 or Charles Webster cell 082 331 7271 (Bill Pocket is away on leave).
DIRECTIONS TO MiTH:
Take the N3 to Hilton, take the Hilton turnoff and go South into the Village (away from Hilton College). Travel 5,2km along Hilton Avenue (past two sets of traffic lights and Old Main Brewery) and keep going straight as Hilton Avenue turns into Dennis Shepstone Drive. At the 5,2km mark, Knoll Drive will be on your right – the entrance to MiTH is the *second* entrance on your left into The Knoll Historic Guest Farm. (Dennis Shepstone Drive is currently under heavy construction – so please be very cautious.)
